أوقفت المديرية العامة للجوازات بمنطقة مكة المكرمة، موظف جوازات في مطار جدة الدولي، وجرى التحفظ عليه، ومنع وسائل الاتصال عنه والزيارة، بسبب أدائه غير اللائق أثناء عمله، واستقباله المسافرين بالمطار، حسبما قالت جريدة "الشرق" السعودية.
ولكن نشر صحف هندية صورة لذلك الموظف عقد المسألة قليلاً، إذ إن الصورة أظهرت جلوسه على إحدى الطاولات، وأثارت الصورة غضب عدد من المواطنين، لما فيها من احتقار للمراجعين، وتكاثرت المطالبات بمحاسبة هذا التصرف ورد اعتبار المسافرين.
وبدا الموظف ورتبته جندي أول جالساً على الطاولة وقدماه على الكرسي واحدة فوق الأخرى وظهره للمراجعين، وتقف أمامه سيدتان، ويظهر أنه لم يلق لهما بالاً، حيث كان يتصفح جوازاً بينما لوحظ على إحدى السيدتين عدم الرضا من تصرف الموظف.
ولم تبرر المديرية العامة للجوازات تصرف الموظف، وقالت على لسان المتحدث الرسمي، المقدم أحمد اللحيان، إنه ما من مبرر لجلوسه بهذه الطريقة، وإن كان الموظفون يعملون تحت ضغط بسبب ساعات عملهم الطويلة التي تصل لثماني ساعات عبر المناوبات، مشيراً إلى أن موظف الجوازات لا يحق له فترات راحة أثناء عمله إلا إذا خف زحام المسافرين والمراجعين عنه.
